Delicious Menu Favorites

The menu at My Breakfast House offers a wide range of breakfast staples, with the standout favorites being their mouthwatering Omelets and heavenly French Toast. From the Veggie Lovers Omelet to the Heart Attack Omelet, and each one impresses with fresh ingredients and bursting flavors. The Spanish Omelet, filled with avocado, cheddar, and salsa, is a crowd-pleaser, while the Obama omelet offers an unconventional but delicious mix of ingredients.

French toast enthusiasts will be thrilled by the options here. The Raisin Bread French Toast is a favorite, described as warm, fluffy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Another standout is the Sourdough French Toast, which has converted even those who typically avoid sourdough. If you’re feeling adventurous, the Strawberry Banana Nutella French Toast offers a delightful balance of crispy and soft textures, with fresh fruit and decadent Nutella to top it all off.

Other Notable Dishes

The variety doesn’t stop at omelets and French toast. Pancake lovers will enjoy hearty portions, with options like Pigs in a Blanket offering a sweet and savory twist. The Chicken Fried Steak is another fan favorite, lauded for its crispy exterior and tender, juicy interior, paired perfectly with creamy gravy. And if you’re a fan of eggs benedict, the Crab Cake Benedict is a standout, with perfectly poached eggs and a hollandaise sauce that will leave you wanting more.

For those seeking a lighter option, you’ll find plenty of choices as well. The Joe’s Scramble and California Benedict are healthy yet flavorful options. Cottage cheese, fresh fruit, and gluten-free toast ensure that even diners with dietary restrictions can find something to enjoy.

“This is our primary go-to place. Very friendly staff, great food. I think we have worked our way through most of the omelets on the menu. They have a nice outdoor patio as well that is dog-friendly.”

Darling L. | San Francisco, CA
“I was looking for a new place that offered brunch in the San Carlos area, and I found My Breakfast House. Service: As I entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly server. She let us choose where to sit, and we chose to sit outside.

The weather was incredible. Our server came to take our orders and listened patiently with a smile to all our requests. The food arrived promptly, and it was delicious. All ingredients were fresh and well-seasoned. Our favorite was the Raisin Bread French Toast. It was fluffy and warm, and it melted in our mouths.

The restaurant was clean, its colors made me feel at ease. They were moderately busy, and most of the customers were regular customers. I could hear their conversations with the servers and some said ‘You know what I like already, so I’ll order that again.’ It was a great experience, and I will visit this location next time I am in San Carlos.”

Itzel B. | Belmont, CA
“Wonderful gem in San Carlos! All you want in a local restaurant. Clean establishment, friendly and quick service, and good food! Coffee was strong and my favorite, the coffee with cream, comes with hot milk on the side! Great little place on Laurel Street! Pancake breakfast. Pigs in a blanket! So good!”

Avinash V. | San Mateo, CA
“We found this hidden gem close to our neighborhood. This is run by local people, and they run it with a lot of love and care. The moment we entered, there was a very beautiful set of people sitting there enjoying a meal, and you could say that they are locals, and they love to visit this place.

There is not a lot of complexity in the menu. You can expect a basic American breakfast with a bunch of omelets, eggs, sausage, and so on, but I’ll tell you what’s different about this place: They greet you with a smile. They’ll help you get seated soon. The service was amazing.

The food came fast. We felt like we were taken care of really well. We were sitting outside, which made us enjoy the nice sunlight, and it was very neat and clean. We are visiting this place for sure again.”

Luke S. | San Mateo, CA
“No lie, the omelets here are probably the best. I’ve tried all of them. The service is great here too.”

Jacqueline S. | Mountain View, CA
“Another great breakfast here… they have great omelets and Benedicts. Pancakes and more. You can choose from several sides besides potatoes—they have cottage cheese and fresh fruit. Coffee is good and often refilled.

Service is attentive, and if there is a line, it usually takes only 10 minutes, but can become 20 minutes when a big group comes in. Be patient! This is a family-friendly place, kids are welcome. Indoor and outdoor seating (patio area on the street in front). Veggie Lovers Omelette with fruit—packed with tomato, spinach, onion, cheese.”

Brett A. | San Carlos, CA
“The raisin oatmeal is a must!! The staff is always friendly and prompt! The menu has a wide variety… everything that I’ve tasted has been good. Whenever in the San Carlos area, give My Breakfast House a try!”

Jan S. | San Francisco, CA
“My hubby and I have been coming here for years. I’m not a sourdough bread gal. I know, and I’m from San Francisco! The only way I will eat sourdough is My Breakfast House sourdough French toast. I literally crave this all the time. Once you try this, regular French toast will not do anymore.

They have lots of breakfast and lunch varieties. It’s family-friendly, and the staff are very attentive. The atmosphere is clean. They even have outdoor dining now. Free parking, sunny weather, and great food. Must try this local place!”

Krista R. | San Carlos, CA
“Just moved to the area and wanted to check out a few places. I came here for breakfast, and boy, am I glad I did. I sat outside on the patio parklet they have with my dog. Service was quick, and I mean quick, which was nice. Ordered, and again got my food quick! Lol, definitely a nice place to come if you are in a rush.

The Strawberry Banana Nutella French Toast was AMAZING, and I mean that all in caps! Lol, I will order it again. The French toast had a slight crunchy crispy but was soft with every bite. The strawberry and bananas were fresh, and well, you can’t go wrong with Nutella. This breakfast hit the spot, and I can’t wait to go back.

I ordered an iced coffee and was I happy when the server brought out the big-ass water cup full of coffee. She knew I needed that big coffee. 10/10 highly recommend this breakfast spot! Can’t wait to try something else.”

Lynnelle E. | Daly City, CA
“I was looking for a good breakfast spot around, and this hit the spot. I appreciated that they are open early. It’s very hard to find in the area, especially on a weekend. The place was nicely decorated, and upon entering, you’re greeted right away. I placed my order, and it was ready in minutes. It was slowly getting busy, you can tell that they were ready for the rush to come.

The food was amazing. I ordered for to-go, but the containers didn’t travel too well. The things we do for the environment. The cardboard literally fell apart.

1. Heart Attack omelet—Flavorful, and it was a good size. I wish I had hot sauce or something to go with it.

2. French toast combo—The French toast was soft and fluffy. Not too eggy with a slight sweetness. It was perfection. I didn’t need syrup. The house potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bacon was crispy, and made the combo complete.

3. Corn beef hash—I loved the chunks of corned beef. It was fresh and tasted amazing with the peppers. I can’t wait to come back here and try their other items.”

Cecilia D. | Fremont, CA
“Went to breakfast after work and found this little restaurant via Yelp. I am glad we went because the food was really good. The restaurant is a good size with outdoor tented seating. The people were very nice and accommodating. We were seated right away since we went in early about 8 am.

They have a great selection of food at reasonable prices for the taste and amount you get. Here is what we had:

Chicken fried steak: crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, with amazing gravy. I rarely eat this because others I have had were too salty, but this was YUMMY!

Crab Benedict: super yummy, not fishy tasting with another awesome hollandaise sauce. My friend and I split our meals and were totally satisfied with everything. I will definitely go back to try other things and I suggest you try it out too.”

Eff B. | San Francisco, CA
“I am in love with My Breakfast House and my partner is too. My boyfriend frequents My Breakfast House about 2-3 times a week, and each time I’m able to come with him on the weekends, he receives a warm welcome, and in extension, I do too.

The service here is so lovely, and I’ve noticed no matter who enters the place, the waiters and staff are very caring. The waitress we are fortunate to always get is Angie. She’s a spectacular waitress, and luckily we have had the ability to get to know her. She’s definitely someone you wish you’d have the opportunity to know outside of your meal.

The food is wonderful. I always get the Spanish omelet that is bursting with avocado, cheddar, sour cream, salsa, and onions. The flavors create this wonderful melody, and I swear they put a whole avocado in there. I pair it with the crispy hash browns, and mixing it with the omelet is such a delight in textures. My boyfriend will go from the chorizo scramble, eggs Benedict, Spanish omelet, and chorizo and bacon breakfast burrito. He always texts me from breakfast and lets me know how amazing his breakfast is.

Now, I must mention that most dishes you will probably have to add your own salt and pepper ratios. At first, I didn’t know how to feel about adding my own salt and pepper, but I now genuinely appreciate being able to add my own choosing of salt and pepper content.

If you want something fast and tasty with delightful service and a laid-back vibe, I’d suggest making your way here 🙂 Thank you, My Breakfast House. Because of you, I actually like breakfast now. Also, as someone who can’t have gluten, I have never been glutened here, which can make or break the week. They have gluten-free toast here, which I have never had because I’d rather focus on the delicious omelet and hash brown.”

Ryan H. | San Mateo, CA
“I’ve visited this location for several years. I’ve always had a wonderful experience! The food and coffee are always fresh. The staff has always been warm, friendly, and professional. Positive and warm ambiance. I look forward to coming back again soon 🙂 Special shout-out to Katie.”

Francisco L. | Redwood City, CA
“Located in San Carlos, My Breakfast House is, in my opinion, the best place for a great breakfast, especially the omelets and hash browns. I ordered a create-your-own omelet and hash browns with mushrooms, sausage, and Monterey Jack cheese, paired with Tapatio hot sauce. This breakfast hit the spot, especially with the side of hash browns, coffee, and orange juice.

My friends had the Raisin Bread French Toast combo with over-medium eggs and country potatoes, and another friend had Chicken Fried Steak with sunny-side-up eggs, hash browns, and sourdough bread. All three of us were very happy and satisfied with our orders, and the service was fantastic, with friendly greetings. The ambiance was wonderful too. Highly recommend My Breakfast House for a great breakfast any morning.”

Leah D. | San Leandro, CA
“First time trying this restaurant, and I was not disappointed. The restaurant was not busy when I arrived just before noon. I ordered the French toast breakfast combo, substituting the two sausages for one hot link sausage. My food came out within 10 minutes, and everything was as requested.

The French toast was delicious, and you can get 2.5 ounces of pure maple syrup for an extra $2.50. The hot link sausage was cooked perfectly, and the hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waitress was super friendly. My breakfast cost $32, and I would definitely return.”

Sabrina C. | Redwood City, CA
“Craving a hearty breakfast, we headed to our favorite spot, My Breakfast House. The omelet was spot-on, the hash browns crispy, and the toast thick, buttery, and delicious—just as I remembered. A great spot for an excellent breakfast. So good, I’m already ready to return!”

Matt D. | Sunnyvale, CA
“A great neighborhood breakfast place. Although I no longer live in the city, I’m glad I could stop by again. It’s a low-frills but solid choice for breakfast. The staff is very friendly, and the Golden Waffle and Obama Omelette, with their uncommon mix of ingredients, were both very delicious.”

Charlene S. | Burlingame, CA
“Wow! I rarely write reviews unless the experience is outstanding. My Breakfast House is SO GOOD!! The food is delicious—everything we’ve had has been excellent. The chef really knows how to cook! The service is friendly and accommodating. They’ll change up anything to suit your needs. Their bacon is incredible, and the omelets, corned beef hash, and pancakes are all to die for! Huge portions too. Absolutely love this place!”

Kiana C. | San Mateo, CA
“Great breakfast place for the family! The staff was amazing and super attentive. The food came out quickly and was delicious—the hash browns were crispy, and the omelet/scramble was loaded with ingredients. I asked for my omelet as a scramble, and the employees were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely come back with my family soon!”

Ramona C. | San Carlos, CA
“We love this place! We eat here every Saturday morning. I usually get two scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, bacon, and an English muffin. I save half for the next day. My husband usually gets omelets, chicken fried steak, or sometimes a hamburger with onion rings, and everything is always great. I also appreciate that they use compostable containers for takeout. I really appreciate this restaurant’s commitment to sustainability. We look forward to returning time and time again.”

Craig C. | San Carlos, CA
“Joe’s Scramble and California Benedict are both delicious! It’s always a tough decision on what to order. Everything is well-prepared, and the flavors are spot on.”

Margarita L. | Redwood City, CA
“Service is excellent from start to finish. The food is delicious and comes out quickly with a smile. I’ll definitely be coming back.”

Charles B. | Elk Grove, CA
“While staying at a local hotel, I searched for the nearest breakfast spot and chose My Breakfast House. I ordered Chicken Fried Steak with over-medium eggs, hash browns well-done, and white toast, plus well-done hash browns and two chocolate chip pancakes for the kids.

The food was packed neatly in recyclable containers, and everything was perfect despite the typical takeout sogginess. The hash browns had a crisp, and the chicken fried steak was battered perfectly. The pancakes were dense yet fluffy, perfect for my kids. Thank you, My Breakfast House, for starting our day off right!”

Jason G. | San Carlos, CA
“While running errands on a dreary morning, I decided to treat myself to a takeout breakfast from My Breakfast House. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict with home fries.

Despite my initial concerns about takeout, the poached eggs were perfect, the hollandaise had a nice bite, and the crab cakes were a great base. The dish was wonderful and exceeded my expectations. I’m excited to try something else next time.”

Tiffany M. | Silicon Valley, CA
“I’ve been here before for breakfast and haven’t written a review until now—shame on me! The staff is super sweet and takes care of your brunch needs. I’ve had the California Benedict and Crab Cake Benedict, which were pretty good.

Today, I had the Piggies in Blankets—fluffy and with sausages inside, plus a generous scoop of whipped butter and a choice of hash browns, country potatoes, fruit cup, or cottage cheese. I went with the fruit cup, which was very fresh. My dad had the Golden Waffle, which was thin but tasty. There’s usually a line to get in, a good indicator of the quality inside. The restaurant closes early afternoon, and parking is limited, but it’s worth the visit. Friendly service and great food for all appetites!”

Donovan M. | Moreno Valley, CA
“We really enjoyed our breakfast at My Breakfast House. If you like French toast, this is the place to be. The French toast is some of the best I have ever had. I got the original (Sourdough), but you also have the choice of cinnamon raisin. Bacon and eggs were of high quality and the service was on point. If ever in the area, make sure you stop here to get your day started right!”

Steven C. | Berryessa, San Jose, CA
“Great spot. The ingredients were definitely fresh and not frozen. The tomatoes and mushrooms were surprisingly flavorful. The portion was also great. The waiters were also very friendly. Always there to deliver water. Egg portion was not fluffy though, but that is okay. I happen to like that style. Norman omelet with waffle combo.”

Tanya S. | Boca Raton, FL
“Great place for breakfast. The food was very good and had large portions. I’m a pro chef and could tell their hollandaise sauce is made from scratch. I had the CA Benedict and it was cooked perfectly. The choc chip pancakes my daughter bff got were fluffy and tasty. Eggs cooked perfectly with no sign of brown. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, tender and almost creamy on the inside. Yummmm.

So nice when a place gets ‘simple things’ right. The staff was perfect. Friendly and accommodating. Didn’t do things to drive up the bill unnecessarily and in these times, that’s appreciated. My only regret is not tipping more. Definitely recommend.”

Deej L. | Oakland, CA
“Fresh and Fast! This is a cute simple place breakfast spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating on a parklet. The service was fast and the plates were hot! Which I appreciate. Pancakes did not disappoint and bacon slices were a good size and cooked well. I got over easy eggs which I wish I got scrambled instead. Good service.”

Parker J. | CA, CA
“Nice place with excellent friendly service. Clientele is mostly local, where servers know peoples names. Honestly, my kind of place. Limited hours and mostly breakfast foods (as the name suggests), but there is an assortment of lunch selections as well. Very quaint and would be a good place for a small meeting or to chill alone with coffee and a book! There were a couple of people with laptops as they were eating.”

Gregg R. | Sacramento, CA
“Cute little breakfast family owned spot in San Carlos. Super friendly service and simple but delicious breakfast items. I had the sausage eggs Benedict and it delivered. Eggs cooked perfectly easy over with a nice rich Benedict sauce and a mild sausage sandwiches in between the English muffin.

Coffee was strong and hot and the service was on point, efficient and friendly. This place does get busy so be prepared to wait but it’s oh so worth it!”

Atif J. | Woodland, CA
“Great place to have a casual dine-in breakfast. Ultra speedy service. Orange juice was fresh squeezed and they will have your food out in no time. A well-oiled machine.

California Eggs benedict was great with spinach, avocado, tomato with a side of potatoes. Pancake with chocolate chips was delicious as was the scrambled eggs and hashbrown, which definitely had some butter or something that made them that much better. Prices slightly on the higher side but service makes up for it.”

Brooke C. | San Mateo, CA
“Love love love this place for breakfast! The portions are huge! And their chocolate chip pancake is amazing. Also they give you yummy raisin bread on the side. Not much to the decor, but who cares if you’re hungry and want chocolate chip pancakes!”

Kevin G. | Half Moon Bay, CA
“Went this morning and had the bacon Benedict and hash browns which I loved. They have a nice outdoor seating area but it was just a bit too windy and cold to hang so we moved inside where there were no other patrons (not sure about you but I am so over freezing while dining in parklets etc). Highly recommend this place. Family-owned, tastefully designed, especially for a little breakfast spot and clean. Solid food most importantly.”

Russell M. | San Carlos, CA
“I can NEVER get enough of this WONDERFUL place! I have given many reviews, but I feel I MUST give one after each visit. Prices have risen a bit, but still nothing compared to most other eateries on Laurel Street.

Extremely friendly service, and the food portions are very generous. If you are hoping for good French Toast, this is the place! Order the 4-slice plate, it covers your entire plate! Your choice of Raisin or Sourdough breads. Just like my great-grandma’s way!”

J. N. | Redwood City, CA
“Nicest people work here. They pour a good coffee, and with a big smile & friendly greeting. Had an awesome salad with shrimp. Also had an amazing (yet not diet-friendly) tuna melt. Breakfast burrito is the bomb. Support this local small business!”

Cleo C. | Redwood City, CA
“My Breakfast House is still good! The staff has been with them for a long time, or has come back from other things…the place is cute, and they have almond milk!

I love the French toast combo, with eggs and bacon or fruit. Even lunch is good…tuna salad is my favorite. It’s huge. Only thing during breakfast time on weekends it gets really noisy and crowded. Hard to converse.”

Chris C. | Redwood City, CA
“The service and the food here was remarkable! Perfect Eggs Benedict. Quickly served. I was surprised and the establishment was 99% capacity. With 2 famished children, this was a perfect place to quench both appetite and patience!”

Patty T. | Los Angeles, CA

“I have to say, with what is going on right now in the world, I ordered from My Breakfast House to go and eat at the Holiday Inn Express as they are not serving their breakfast yet. I ordered Corned beef hash with poached eggs, 1 buttermilk pancake, a side order of biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs with sausage links. 2 coffees, extra butter, and maple syrup. The order was perfect! Nothing was missing.

The breakfasts were just the right heat, nothing was rubbery, chewy or anything. Poached eggs were perfect. This is hard for me to say, because I love to dine in, and of course now you can’t, but I was happily surprised that everything was done well, and I enjoyed everything that I ate. I will be visiting my son who moved to that area. I hope to go and eat there soon again. Thank you. Great job!!!!!”

Kathryn R. | CA, CA
“My family’s favorite breakfast joint. They have all the typical breakfast dishes but my personal faves are the omelets (esp ABC) and pancakes. They make some good coffees and lattes, too. All the people who work there are very kind and really care about making sure you have a good time with their delicious food.”

Joe K. | Huntington Beach, CA
“I was traveling in for business when I found this place. I had the Corned Beef Hash. It was homemade, delicious, and filling. A good value for my dollars. The service was very good, and coffee was refilled constantly. Parking might be a little rough, but I was only about 90 ft. from the venue which was great.”

Clarissa C. | Stockton, CA
“Solid breakfast gem on my quest to try every place with eggs benedict in the whole Bay Area (life goal, baby steps…)!

My Breakfast House is a great breakfast stop in San Carlos that you just might miss due to its plain green signage outside. While the interior is also pretty plain, their breakfast menu is pretty textbook in my opinion.

My party of 4 came on a Sunday at noon and did not have to wait at all for a table for brunch. I got the eggs benedict, which was very delicious. The hollandaise was creamy with a slight tang from lemon, the ham was salty and flavorful, and the english muffin was admirably crispy. My poached eggs’ yolks were not complete gooey, but softly cooked, which was fine to me. On top of that, the hash browns on the side were just perfect–flat and crispy throughout (until I drowned them in ketchup, at least).

The service was good too–ladies continued to walk by to refill coffees and waters throughout our meal. Would definitely be coming back–good breakfast and also no wait!”

Stephanie G. | Puyallup, WA
“A friend and I were passing through town and were really hungry for breakfast. We decided to give this place a try, and we were glad we did. I got something basic, pigs in a blanket. It was delicious though! I’m picky about sausage, it has to be well done, and it was perfect.

My friend got an omelet and she said it was delicious as well. The staff was super friendly and nice. Thank you!”

Thomas Y. | San Carlos, CA
“Today is our very first time trying this place. We fell in love with it. The food is just awesome. It’s a local neighborhood kind of breakfast joint and the place feels home! No frills…just awesome food! Corned beef hash didn’t sound like much but my god! It’s crunchy and packed with flavor.

We also had the French toasts with berries, banana, and Nutella. Awesome. Not too sweet. And the French toasts were a bit crunchy outside and soft inside. Will definitely go back!!”

Joseph K. | San Carlos, CA
“I just had the best breakfast I’ve had in a long long time. I came from getting my blood drawn across the street at the Quest Diagnostics lab and I was hungry because I had to fast for my blood tests. So it’s a little after 11 AM and I see this place called ‘My Breakfast House.’ I thought, OK I’ll try it looks good — it was phenomenal.

I had three eggs over easy with country potatoes and bacon and English muffin with butter and it was awesome! Everything was perfectly flavored, perfectly, and immediately served, so it was hot — and then I was still hungry so I ordered a blueberry pancake with butter and powdered sugar and that was great too. So I highly recommend this place. I don’t really write reviews that often, but try it you’ll definitely like it! Oh yeah, it was not expensive either.”

Patricia M. | Redwood City, CA
“Just got back from a take-out order from MBH. We have eaten there often in the past and love the owner and staff so wanted to support them during this difficult SIP. Had never ordered the Fish and Chips in house but WOW! They were perfectly cooked. Crunchy on the outside and perfectly moist on the inside. ABC omelet very satisfying, especially for take out.

Take out provided the same great service we have experienced on site over the years! So, if you’re looking for a good meal for take out and to support a great local business, hit My Breakfast House. Not only for breakfast but a great lunch as well.”

Payal V. | Redwood City, CA
“We came here on a weekend with the kids. We were originally attracted to this place because of the reviews and they had a playroom. When we got there we found out the playroom is now closed because of policy changes. Luckily there was no wait so we got seated right away. The staff was nice enough to give the kids a small notepad and crayons to entertain them. Speaking of staff, everyone was very friendly.

The restaurant is not huge so I can see there being a long wait during brunch hours. The kids ordered a strawberry pancake and one banana/chocolate chip pancake. One pancake each was more than enough for them. The hubby and I got Joe’s favorite and the Chorizo scramble. Everyone was very happy with the dishes. No complaints here. We found a new brunch place we will be frequenting!”
