My family and I have enjoyed solid Italian-American cuisine at Spasso a number of times. It is not haute cuisine but the food appeals to every generation. The service offered by Julian and Chloe is superb. We try to ask for them by name. Spasso offers a very decent outdoor space if you don’t want to eat indoors. My only compliant is that the random person who answers the phone for them is not always well trained or gracious. They need to train their phone staff as it is a first impression!

Had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Came to town for a bachelorette party and the staff made us feel so welcome. They took good care of us and the service alone would be a solid 5 stars. The food, was absolutely one of the best I’ve tried. Worth every dollar spent. A must try when in the area!

Exceptionally good food. Super friendly staff. Very quiet during the time we went. We sat inside not too far from the door. Most of the diners sat outside as it was a nice day. They have ample seating. The food arrived with perfect timing (as we are completing our appetizers). They checked on us consistently. Everything pictured was a hit and no take home boxes. The food was tasty – not tangy or bland. If you sit close to the bar there’s a tv where you can catch a game. Great place to dine for any occasion. Definitely recommend.

Great pasta including penne chicken. House bread and bruschetta is amazing. Go to local spot for us. Have simple kids menu including French fries for a quick app. Great and friendly service.

Came here last night with a party of 6. I had made a reservation and had requested an outside table. They had a nice outside table ready for us and the hostess was friendly and accommodating. We ordered several appetizers.. Calamari, shrimp and steak rolls as well as two Mista salads and a Cesar salad . All were delicious and served together.

3 of us had the Fillet Mignon. I ordered it rare and it was cooked perfectly. It was melt in your mouth delicious. The other two ordered it medium rare and medium. Both said it was was cooked to their request and was delicious.

My husband had the pork chop! He ate every bite and loved it. Our friends ordered the Black pepper fettuccine and the chicken parmigiana. Both dishes were stupendous. We had desert and wine. Service was attentive and friendly. I think for the price, this restaurant is a great value and always a fantastic dining experience in downtown San Carlos.

I have been here 3 times and we had a good experience all three times. The food was good and the portions were pretty standard to other places and the service was nice. Its a nice atmosphere and they take reservations which is really nice for small groups. They have an amazing bread pudding and they have outside seating for warm nights. I recommend this place for anyone who cant decide on a spot to eat.

Julian was our awesome waiter tonight. This is our second time to visit and we will definitely return when we are back in the area. The service and restaurant are super good. The support staff are great. I was there with my wife, daughter, son-in-law and Grandson. All our meals were so good! My grandson Jeremy loves their spaghetti and bread. Spasso is a must go to for Italian food!

A big thank you to Kurt and his staff for hosting my daughter and mom-in-law’s b day party! Everything was amazing: food, service and ambiance. We had 50+ guests and per everyone’s reactions it was a glowing success. Finding a restaurant/venue for a private party is not always pleasant but Kurt made it easy. He was very accommodating and sympathetic to work with. Though their food/beverages packages were budget friendly, Kurt definitely went above and beyond. We can’t thank him enough for being so generous. If you’re looking for great food and a fun restaurant for a night out or plan to host a large private party, look no further than Spasso in San Carlos!!!

Last night 2/26/22 was our very first visit and we were all so happy for such a great first time experience. Zoe was our waitress and was absolutely Great ! The service was incredibly good as I watched the entire restaurant. Everyone’s food was exceptional. No one’s glass was ever empty before a server would fill it up without even asking. It’s the small details like this that you can tell what sets a excellent restaurant apart from just an average restaurant. What a gem!

Our pre-Valentine’s day dinner at Spasso was almost perfect. The Caesar Salad was one of the best I’ve had in the area – really crisp, sweet romaine hearts with not-too-much tangy dressing and just a few freshly toasted croutons. My wild-mushroom ravioli had a nice texture and a tasty, smoky, garlic cream sauce with fresh and perfectly cooked tomatoes and arugula. The bread arrived hot and crispy.

My Sweety’s arugula salad was huge with plenty of excellent blue cheese, lightly sweetened pecans, julienned jicama, spiced pears, and tender, mild baby arugula in a delicately sweet dressing – very refreshing. Her main dish, the grilled salmon, was tender with crispy edges over perfectly done spinach and savory potatoes, a very nice combination. Our server was efficient, helpful, and attentive, and we are glad to have leftovers from the generous portions. We’ll be back!

Great service, great food, amazing cocktails. We came here for Father’s Day and sat on the patio. We ordered the Spasso Sampler plate as a starter and it was amazing – the crab cakes were all of our favorites. I ordered warm cabbage salad with prawns, the prawns were cooked perfectly.

My boyfriend had the Spaghetti Bolognese, which for a classic dish can actually be done poorly – his was delish. Can’t remember what my parents ordered but I can remember the Bread Pudding and Flourless Chocolate Cake which is completely finished both of. Last added bonus; there is a younger bartender who looks like young Bob Dylan if he’s working ask for him to make your cocktails – HE IS THE BEST!

Made reservations and seated immediately; they have outdoor, indoor, and bar seating. They gave us iced water and a basket of bread with some sort of olive oil spread (delicious!! I probably ate 4 pieces, and they refill the basket for free too). I ordered the Black Pepper Fettuccini while my friend got the Pesto Gnocchi. It didn’t take long at all for the food to come out, and they offered to sprinkle grated parmesan on our dishes!

Our meals were PIPING HOT, even though it was a breezy day on their patio. I really enjoyed my fettuccini but the portion was so large, I couldn’t finish it and had to take it home. For the price, I believe the amount of seafood is totally worth it! Would recommend for a date night, work dinner, dinner with your parents — anything and everything! The location is right next to a bunch of dessert places too, if you have a second stomach 🙂

Now, this is a restaurant. I ordered the seafood linguine, and was overall very happy with the dish, price, and complimentary bread and oil. It was all tasty. You can always improve anything, for example adding good oils to the sauce, or a better cook of fish. Things can be more elevated, but I enjoyed it.

We visited Spasso for the first time today. Good food and good ambiance! Seafood linguini, Saffron Pappardelle and the Lava Cake were all delicious. We visited on a Saturday night so we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table outside, but the timely service compensated for that. Overall a pleasant experience!

Wonderful experience, from the moment we walked up without a reservation needing a table for 6, to the end of the meal when they thanked us for coming and were so warm. And they were able to get us a table immediately. I guess our timing was lucky. They were slammed last Saturday night.

When I asked our waitress if it was always this busy, she said no, this was 250 covers and they normally do half that. Well let me tell you something…. They did an amazing job! The open kitchen was non stop, and I think it was only 3 guys in what looked like a small space. All the food was cooked perfectly, and the portions were nice. My Sea Bass w/capers was one of the best I’ve had. And due to how busy they were, we had a bit of a wait here and there, but it just gave my family time to catch up. And it was well worth the wait.

I had the butternut squash soup and it was very flavorful but slightly thin. Parmesan chicken sandwich was thick and very good. Service was above average and the fresh bread and olive oil served was a nice touch. Prices were what one would expect for a higher end restaurant and it was a good value all things considered.

We met family at Spasso’s for lunch and we had a wonderful experience! They have indoor and outdoor dining available. Laurel St is closed for alfresco dining but there’s parking across the street. We ordered the seafood linguini w/ prawns, scallops, mussels, rock shrimp, manila clams, fish in a SPICY marinara sauce. My wife enjoys spicy foods but it was too spicy for her. I ordered the walnut crusted pork chop with sweet potatoes, and spinach. It was juicy and full of flavor. The rest of the family had the salmon and the teriyaki skirt steak. They said the steak very tender and the salmon was grilled perfect-lit. The table service was awesome. The staff were friendly. Thank you Spasso for a great dining experience!
