Day of the Dead Ofrendas: Mini Altar Workshop at the Library
Celebrate Day of the Dead with a Mini Altar Workshop in San Carlos!
Join us on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM for a special Day of the Dead Ofrendas workshop, where participants will learn how to create a beautiful miniature altar, or ofrenda, in honor of Día de los Muertos. This hands-on event, led by renowned Bay Area artist Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo, will guide you through the step-by-step process of crafting traditional decorations for the ofrenda.
During this interactive workshop, participants will make iconic Day of the Dead elements like fruit, bread, flowers, candles, skulls, and paper banners. Whether you’re familiar with the tradition or exploring it for the first time, this workshop is a meaningful way to learn about and participate in the cultural celebration of honoring loved ones who have passed.
