Youth and social media have become one of the most pressing issues of our time. When is the right age for kids to get cell phones? How can we guide them through the often challenging online world?
With bullying behaviors frequently starting online, it’s crucial that we address this issue during our week of events.
We’ve partnered with MyDigitalTAT2, a local expert in providing training for parents on this topic. Their training will help participants gain a deeper understanding of what young people encounter online and offer strategies for having meaningful conversations about digital media use.
You’ll also have the opportunity to practice these strategies alongside young people, fostering a healthy and balanced relationship with technology. Plus, you can connect with others in your community who are navigating similar challenges.

United Against Hate Week happens in San Carlos on September 22-28, 2024
– is a call for local civic action to stop the hate and implicit biases that are a threat to the safety and civility of our neighborhoods, towns, and cities. We want to empower local residents to take action in their local communities and alter the course of this growing intolerance. When cities and their residents work together against hate, we can restore respect and civil discourse, embrace the strength of diversity and build inclusive and equitable communities for all.
Join us! You can post signs, host events, share stories, attend rallies, and connect with schools and neighborhood civic institutions. Nothing is too small, because working united in each community is what will defeat hate in all communities.

UAH Week 2024: Community Conversation & Dinner
You’re invited to a community supper to discuss the theme of “Inclusion.” For the past several years, the Foundation has actively participated in the nationwide “United Against Hate” campaign. This year, after engaging with San Carlos residents and leaders, we’ve identified bullying—particularly among our youth—as a pressing concern.
UAH Week 2024: Teacher Appreciation at Reach & Teach
Join the Reach And Teach Bookshop team for a special inclusive event designed just for local teachers!
