Holly Street Interchange, Critical Community Meeting

Safety Makeover in the Works for U.S. 101/Holly Street Interchange
Community Meeting: July 17, 6–8PM at the San Carlos Library
Big changes are on the horizon for the U.S. 101/Holly Street Interchange—and San Carlos wants you in on it.
After years of planning (and a bit of a delay to sync up with Caltrans’ Express Lanes project), the City is back on track to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety at one of San Carlos’ busiest intersections. Think safer crossings, updated bike/ped infrastructure, and a long-awaited separated overcrossing.
But before any hard hats hit the ground, the City wants to hear from you.
Community Meeting
When: July 17, 6:00–8:00 PM
Where: San Carlos Library Community Room, 2nd Floor
Address: 610 Elm St, San Carlos, CA 94070
If you’ve got ideas, concerns, or just want to see what’s coming, this is your moment. City staff will share updated plans and collect feedback. Can’t make it in person? No worries—a virtual survey will be available, too.

Why now?
Residents have been raising red flags about safety for years. The City is now working closely with Caltrans, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA), and other partners to fast-track short- and long-term solutions. They’re revisiting designs, hunting down funding, and trying to make the area more friendly for everyone—not just cars.

It’s your city—don’t sit this one out. Let’s make crossing Holly Street a little less “holy smokes” and a lot more safe.
