Flying for Good – When Pilots Take Their Wings and Give Back
Ever thought your pilot license could save a life—or maybe even rescue a puppy?
If you’re a pilot who’s racked up your fair share of joyrides and scenic detours, here’s a flight plan with a little more heart. On Wednesday, July 23 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, head over to the San Carlos Flight Center (SCFC) for a community event all about philanthropy flying—aka using your flying skills for good.
SCFC is bringing in a panel of their own rockstar pilots who’ve flown missions for organizations like Angel Flight West, Pilots N Paws, CalDART, and EAA Young Eagles. They’ve helped patients get to medical appointments, transported animals to safety, and introduced kids to their very first flight. Honestly? Kinda like the Avengers, but with Cessnas.
This isn’t just feel-good fluff. The panel—hosted by the ever-awesome Fei Fang—is diving into real stories, how-to tips, and all the safety prep that goes into these missions. Whether you’re already volunteering or just curious how to get involved, this is your hangar party.
Oh, and if you’re an SCFC member? You get plane rental discounts for doing these philanthropy flights. Flying for a cause and saving some cash? That’s just good altitude adjustment.
