Blast From the Past… Digitally! At the Centennial Lab Digital Archiving Station
Got a stack of old VHS tapes or floppy disks hiding in your closet like digital dinosaurs? Time to bring them back to life!
Head over to the Centennial Lab: Digital Archiving Station on Tuesday, June 10 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM in San Carlos. As part of the San Carlos Centennial celebration, this free event is your chance to digitize precious memories—think photos, slides, old-school home movies, even that floppy disk you swore you’d never lose the password to.
Here’s what the Memory Lab can handle:
- Photos, negatives, and slides
- VHS & VHS-C cassettes
- Audio cassettes (mixtape, anyone?)
- 8mm & Super-8 film (silent but nostalgic)
- 3.5″ floppy disks (DOS/Windows only)
- CD-R & DVD-R data discs
It’s first come, first served—so come early, grab a seat near the Rotunda, and get ready to press play on your past. Ideal for anyone 19+, and especially friendly for our 55+ memory keepers. Let’s make sure those memories don’t stay trapped in the attic.
