Special 30-Minute Star Shows
For Adults and Children Ages 5 and Up
Step into the captivating dome of the Starlab planetarium and marvel at the radiant stars of the night sky projected overhead. Explore the brilliance of the constellations that grace the nightly canvas, including those relied upon by pilots, sailors, and other navigators as they traverse vast and seemingly endless oceans.
Children aged 5 and older are warmly welcomed, accompanied by an adult, at any presentation time. For children aged 3-5, attendance is permitted with one accompanying adult required for each child. Children aged 2 and under are not recommended. To access the inside of the Starlab dome, participants should be able to crawl through a short tunnel with reduced lighting and remain seated throughout the engaging 30-minute presentation.
Please note that space for each presentation is limited, and a separate Starlab ticket is necessary for each participant, priced at $5 per person ($4 for Members), in addition to Museum admission. Tickets can be conveniently purchased at the Museum Gift Shop on the day of the program.
The Hiller Aviation Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate museum, was opened to the public in 1998 by helicopter designer and inventor Stanley Hiller Jr. and features more than 50 aircraft from more than a century of aviation history. The museum is visited by over 108,000 people each year, including over 10,000 children from regional K-12 schools. Since opening, the museum has served over 1.7 million visitors. The Hiller Aviation Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
A unique cultural asset and lifelong learning resource for diverse communities in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Museum celebrates the spirit of discovery and innovation of aviation pioneers whose creativity made the dream of flight a reality. Core museum programs for youth are based on state and national academic standards and support K-12 school curricula in history and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), including interactive, hands-on programs developed in partnership with NASA.
