Bianchini’s Market
Bianchini’s Market : Over 50 Years of Service in San Carlos
At Bianchini’s Market, shop locally, support your community, and experience real, old-fashioned service, from our family to yours.
The Bianchini family has been in the grocery business for generations. Serving the bay area for over 50 years.
Many of our customers remember our Foodville store at 616 Laurel Street in San Carlos. In 2009 we moved to our current location at 810 Laurel Street and expanded our offerings. Both of our Peninsula locations offer shoppers the highest quality and personalized service. In 1998 we opened our store in the Ladera Shopper in Portola Valley and established a very loyal following.
Our grandfather, Albert Bianchini Sr. (right) and our father, Al Bianchini, Jr. (left) were both life-long butchers and our old-fashioned, full-service meat department is the cornerstone of our business. Generations of Peninsula shoppers know Bianchini’s offers the finest in USDA choice meat, seafood & poultry. Many of our butchers were trained by our dad, and they love what they do!
Bianchini’s produce is also a family tradition.
Our uncle, Jerry Bianchini, set a standard back in the old Foodville days that we still honor today. We carry an extensive selection of organic varieties as well as gorgeous locally grown and imported fruits and vegetables. Take your time, smell the wonderful aromas, and enjoy the colors and textures of the freshest produce available. Our staff is always on hand to answer your questions about selecting the ripest piece of fruit, or offering suggestions on preparing a healthy recipe for you or your family.
Our grocery shelves are stocked with all your favorite brands.
You’ll find lots of international items, unique spices, olive oils, and sauces; everything for the most sophisticated chefs. Budget-conscious shoppers will be pleased with our offerings, too. Have special dietary needs? We probably have what you’re looking for including gluten-free, sugar-free, low sodium, vegan, and more. Have an item you’d like us to stock? Just ask and we’ll order it for you!
Our mouth-watering gourmet cheese selection is a treat in itself. We carefully select varieties from around the world as well from local artisans. Need help selecting the right cheese or a pairing suggestion? Let us help you; you may discover some new favorites.
The Bakery at Bianchini’s features house-made tarts, breads and treats as well as a sinful selection of goods from local and international bakers. Special orders for cakes and treats are always welcome.
And Bianchini’s liquor department has it all. Find just the right bottle for a special event, or something to bring home and enjoy with a meal. We carry a great selection of your favorite microbrews, as well as your imported and domestic favorites. And all the wines you love are here, including our Bianchini Family Vineyards label. With all this variety, you can always find something new and different.

When you convert to a ketogenic-adapted lifestyle, shopping & eating out gets … complicated. Especially when you have Michelin-started tastes, which I absolutely & unashamedly do.
Fortunately, there is a Bianchini’s for that. It may look like a normal grocery store, except it’s not. It’s an underground keto superhero. The tomahawk chop steaks? The grass fed Humboldt County short ribs? The raw milk cheese from the frickin’ Swiss Alps? The heirloom raw organic California walnuts? The feral wild boar dry sausage from Texas & Landjäger 2 ounce portion survival snack? It’s so keto chic, it’s not even funny.
Plus, for sustainability keto freaks like me, they also have some nice reusable food & drink vessels as well created from metal & silicon. And there is even Dobro the Amazon storage locker, in case you fell for the mass media fake news storyline about Amazon killing local businesses.
It killed the bad ones. But not the Bianchinis of this world. They are eternal. Community. Quality. Service. Born in the Bay Area. Keto-friendly since 2022. And I should know. You don’t become a 14-time Yelp Elite black badge holder for nothing.

It’s always a treat to come here and I always find myself dropping a lot of money just because of their unique and curated selection of specialty and local items!
My husband used to work out of this area and this was his go to lunch spot. He loves their deli sandwiches so when a craving hit on a Saturday we ended up driving this way to enjoy a sandwich…. Since then I’ve been here a handful of times enjoying not only amazing deli sandwiches but poke by the lb, unique soups, freshly baked bread and pastries, and other fun items they have in stock.
If you happen to be in the area, definitely check them out. They have a lot of items you just won’t find in your local grocery store. I just wish they were closer to us in Santa Clara!

Excellent hard-working staff, super friendly people who smile and recognizes the regulars, they’re why I come back again and again.
I really come here because I love all the hot soups which rotate on a daily basis. I have friends that would kill for the recipe to the chicken pozole but I personally like the Italian meatball and chicken noodle.
They also always have a hot mixed veggie dish which is helpful when you’re trying to be good about your diet. It’s difficult to eat healthy on Laurel St unless you’re ordering a $16 salad or $12 fat/pancetta-laden sprouts from a nearby place that rhymes with frown.
I really like their chicken salad and egg salad – sometimes I get both and a package of crackers and have a gigantic mayonnaise salad fest it’s delicious! And their sandwiches!!!! Get a sandwich, customize it, they got you.
I guess I don’t notice this in other stores not that it doesn’t happen but I also see a lot of local elderly folks buying the pre-prepped goods/soups to stock up for the week and I can’t stress enough how important Bianchini’s is to the community.

We needed a specific item and we called they were very nice did a quick price check.
We went in it clean, well stocked so many great cheeses, deli items. Produce and meat departments look really nice. Did I mention cheeses? I say ignore all the negative covid reviews sheesh everyplace was having supply chain & staffing issues give businesses a break.
This will definitely be a regular stop for us.

I have been frequenting this market for almost 5 years now and they always have excellent and unique selections.
This review is devoted to the December sandwich special – Merry Crab Melt! Aaahhhh!! It’s awesome and super generous for $12.99. I had it twice now and each time it gets better. Generous crab chunks, aioli sauce, Swiss cheese, avocado and tomato all on toasty goodness sliced sourdough bread. A must try if you’re a crabbie McMasterson! The deli staff love the sandwich, they’re all really accommodating and super nice.
They have an excellent hot food area. The prime rib and kielbasa sausages are so good when they have them. They’re not available daily only certain days. I think on Fridays. The soup and salad bar are pretty good as well. I love the olive bar, nice variety. The soups are great, my fav is Italian Wedding w/meatballs. They have about 6 soups out daily, broth or creamy options.
Meats and seafood area has an awesome selection, very pricey but excellent quality.
The bakery area has loads of specialty breads and desserts- unique items. Awesome cakes if you need to bring an item to a dinner party or gathering.
I have 4 more days to continue to get the Merry Crab Melt! Haha, yes it’s that good! Give it a try before the year end.
Oh! Shout out to Tiff at the check out! She’s the best!

We were searching high and low for a standing rib roast for a birthday dinner during covid 19.
We finally found Bianchini’s ! We had never been here before covid19. The standing rib roast was $14.99 /lb vs $ 19.99 and what’s more is that they had a roast in stock. Everyone else failed to have any in stock. (Piazzas , Lunardis, Safeway etc )
We had the best prime rib roast ever and the fresh corn we ordered was the sweetest we’d had this season ! We can’t believe we never heard of Bianchini’s before this.
Thank you Bianchini’s for coming through for us.
We will be back
