“Love this mom-daughter clothing store! My favorite in San Carlos. Every time I walk in the door, I am greeted with kindness. I’d call it Midwestern hospitality. They always make me feel welcome coming in their store.” Peggy from San Carlos
When Jimena Delaquintana and her daughter Sofia Kurt opened the doors to White Sage Boutique in July 2021, they were launching a space of “positive, good, and loving vibes” for the people of San Carlos, at a time when most people were just beginning to emerge from the quiet and uncertainty of the pandemic. Now, four years later, the boutique is closing, but the mark it made is unmistakable.
As White Sage Boutique prepares to close its doors this Sunday, July 27, longtime customers and new friends alike are invited to stop in one last time to celebrate all the memories this shop has created. Mother-daughter owners Jimena and Sofia are offering 20% off all purchases through Sunday as a thank-you to the community that has supported them over the past four years. All sales are now final, and gift card/store credit holders are encouraged to use their balances in store or online before the week ends.
White Sage: A Boutique Rooted in Intention
The idea for White Sage came to life as a response to both personal passion and local need. With a minimalist-modern aesthetic and a curated inventory of women’s fashion, jewelry, and lifestyle goods, Jimena and Sofia envisioned a shop that reflected the symbolic meaning behind its name. “White Sage is cleansing, purifying and has protective features.”
The shop was built on teamwork. Jimena handled buying and visual merchandising, while Sofia ran the tech, social media, and online store. They brought style, but also heart. “She’s got a lot of brands that other boutiques in Burlingame or San Carlos don’t have,” Sheryl from San Francisco commented. “And the owner is really helpful.”

Supporting Local, Always
With its seasonal colors, intentional style, and approachable pricing, the shop became a favorite among fashion-minded San Carlos residents and beyond. They hosted pop-ups with local artisans like Link x Lou SF and clean beauty makers from Kahana Collective.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they gave back with their annual “Think Pink” event, donating proceeds to the San Mateo County Health Foundation. In November, they championed “Pink Friday,” encouraging people to shop small before Black Friday.
They even offered private shopping parties: after-hours gatherings with bubbly and bites for birthdays, mom nights, or just because.

The Next Chapter
In July 2025, the mother-daughter team announced they would be closing White Sage Boutique at the end of the month. “After four years, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors,” they wrote in a farewell message posted online and in-store. “We appreciate you and have loved seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.”
“To the reps and small businesses that popped up in store… thank you so much,” they wrote. “We are so blessed to have worked with you.” While their storefront has closed, Jimena and Sofia’s impact will linger. From curated styles to heartfelt service, White Sage Boutique was a reflection of everything they hoped to share: joy, beauty, and the simplicity of such.
Thank you, White Sage, for four thoughtful years.
