United Against Hate Week (Nov. 12-18th, 2023) is a call for local civic action to stop the hate and implicit biases that are a threat to the safety and civility of our neighborhoods, towns, and cities.
You're invited to a special community conversation and dinner to discuss the important theme of "Inclusion." Over the past several years, the Community Foundation of San Carlos has been actively involved in the nationwide "United Against Hate" campaign, striving to foster unity and understanding.
The Reach And Teach Bookshop team invites local teachers to participate in the United Against Hate - Teacher Appreciation Program. Enjoy complimentary food and beverages, explore displays of books and resources on inclusion and anti-bullying, and try out cooperative games, including the Goodbye Bully Machine game. There will also be fun giveaways!
Join us at City Hall at 7 PM for the "City of San Carlos Proclamation" of the United Against Hate Week in San Carlos, where our City Council brings attention to the crucial issues of inclusion and anti-bullying.
We’ve partnered with MyDigitalTAT2, a local expert in providing training for parents on this topic: Parenting in the Digital Era. Their training will help participants gain a deeper understanding of what young people encounter online and offer strategies for having meaningful conversations about digital media use.
What better way to cap off a week of reflection on bullying than by spending an evening on Laurel Street, Open Mic Night by Clock Tower Music, enjoying the music and humor of local talent?
On the Saturday Morning Community Forum, we’ll conclude our week of exploring the topics of inclusion and bullying. We invite you to join us for this forum, where we’ll reflect on what we’ve learned, share more stories from the workshops and trainings, and discuss possible next steps the community may want to take.
