Peace, Love, History & Ice Cream: A Groovy Day at the Museum of San Carlos History

Mark your calendars and get ready for a colorful afternoon filled with community spirit, sweet treats, and fascinating local history! The Museum of San Carlos History invites everyone to save the date for its annual ice cream social on Saturday, September 12th, featuring a fun and festive theme: “Peace, Love, History & Ice Cream.” ☮️✌️❤️🍨

This special event is a wonderful opportunity for families, friends, history enthusiasts, and San Carlos community members to spend an afternoon together while celebrating the stories and traditions that make the city special. And this year, there is an extra reason to feel groovy: September 12th is also unofficially officially Tie Dye Day in San Carlos!

Come Dressed in Your Grooviest Tie-Dye

Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite tie-dye clothing and accessories to add even more color and personality to the celebration. Whether you have a classic tie-dye shirt tucked away in your closet or want to create a brand-new colorful look for the occasion, this is the perfect day to let your creativity shine.

Think bright colors, swirling patterns, peace signs, and plenty of positive energy. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

The colorful outfits will help transform the museum and its surroundings into a cheerful celebration of peace, love, friendship, and community. It is also a great excuse to bring out your most colorful clothes and take some memorable photographs with family and friends.

Free Ice Cream Sundaes for Everyone

One of the biggest highlights of the afternoon will, of course, be the ice cream!

The Museum of San Carlos History has exciting news to share: Baskin-Robbins will be providing the ice cream and toppings for this year’s celebration. 🍨🍧👍

A generous donation like this helps make the event even more special for the community. The museum extends a heartfelt thank you to Baskin-Robbins for helping make this sweet tradition possible.

Guests can enjoy free sundaes from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., giving everyone plenty of time to choose their favorite toppings and create a delicious frozen treat. Whether you prefer a simple scoop or a sundae piled high with toppings, there will be plenty of reasons to indulge.

Explore San Carlos History

While the ice cream social is a fun-filled community celebration, it is also an opportunity to discover more about local history. The museum will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., allowing visitors to explore its exhibits and learn more about the people, places, events, and stories that have helped shape San Carlos.

The Museum of San Carlos History is located at 533 Laurel Street, in the little building next to the fire station. Its welcoming location makes it easy to find, and the annual ice cream social provides an especially enjoyable reason to stop by.

If you have never visited the museum before, September 12th is an excellent time to experience it. If you are already familiar with the museum, the event offers another chance to return, bring someone new, and share an appreciation for San Carlos history.

Feeling Groovy and Lucky?

There is even more fun planned for the afternoon! Guests will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for some great opportunity prize drawings.

Feeling groovy and lucky? 🍀🤞 Pick up your tickets and see whether you might take home one of the exciting prizes. The drawings add another element of anticipation to an already festive afternoon.

Whether you come for the history, the ice cream, the tie-dye, the community atmosphere, or the possibility of winning a prize, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
