Night of Holiday Lights 2025 – The Magic at Laurel Street
And the countdown begins – the Night of Holiday Lights marks the official start of the Holiday Season!
Festivities will take place on Laurel Street, from San Carlos Avenue to Cherry Street, with the main stage located on Cherry Street. Kids’ rides like swings, carousels, and choo-choo trains will be set up in the area. All kinds of groups in San Carlos will be manning the booths, selling hot chocolate, candies, and other novelty items. These will also be organizing all kinds of arts and crafts activities for children.
The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. with performers, snowfall, children’s crafts, holiday characters and a holiday show. Music will continue throughout the evening, as the crowds will be encouraged to visit our local shops and restaurants.

From the City
For safety purposes and to enhance the feeling of community, the 600 block of Laurel Street will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event, including Cherry Street at both East and West alleys. Laurel Street will close at 1:30 p.m. and will reopen at approximately 9:30 p.m. Please be advised that the Wheeler Plaza parking area and the West side of Cherry Street to the alley will be closed all day. We understand closing the street may be a hardship to some businesses. However, our best efforts are being made to draw shoppers downtown, not only on this evening, but for visits in the future!
