Welcome the Year of the Snake in style with the 2025 San Carlos Lunar New Year Celebration! Join us at Burton Park for a vibrant day of fun, food, and festivities as we embrace this special holiday with the San Carlos community.
What’s Happening at the Celebration?
Get ready for an unforgettable experience featuring:
- Spectacular Performances: Watch the thrilling lion dance and enjoy cultural performances showcasing local talent.
- Delicious Food Trucks: Savor culinary delights from The Chairman Bao, Saigon Street Food, and Respectable Bird.
- Interactive Activities: Explore the Library’s Maker Mobile, check out books, and participate in fun crafts.
- Giveaways and Red Envelopes: Don’t miss the chance to grab free goodies and red envelopes (while supplies last)!

Date & Location:
- Burton Park in San Carlos
- Performances will be held on the Main Stage. Bring a chair or blanket for comfortable seating. Families are encouraged to let children sit at the front for the best view!
Time:
- Festivities begin in the morning and last throughout the day.
What to Wear:
- Celebrate in style by wearing red or other traditional Lunar New Year attire to add to the festive atmosphere.
About Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is celebrated in many countries including China, Vietnam, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore, and by communities worldwide. It marks the start of the lunisolar calendar’s new year, symbolizing the arrival of spring and a fresh beginning. Traditions such as lion dances, festive foods, and lantern lightings represent prosperity, renewal, and good fortune for the coming year.
Helpful Information
Parking:
- Free street parking is available around Burton Park.
- Additional parking is reserved at Arroyo Elementary School on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- A parking lot is also located on Chestnut Street near Burton Park.
Tickets:
- Admission is FREE for all attendees, but we encourage registering for tickets to help us plan for the event.
- Adult Ticket: Free
- Child Ticket: Free
