2025 San Carlos Holiday Lights Ride

The holiday season brings out the best in our community—twinkling lights, festive decorations and countless opportunities to celebrate together. This year, we’re excited to invite everyone to one of the most anticipated seasonal traditions in the Bay Area: the 2025 San Carlos Holiday Lights Ride! This family-friendly biking event combines the magic of the holidays with the joy of riding through the beautifully decorated streets of San Carlos. It’s a perfect way to kick off the season with friends, neighbors and loved ones.

See twinkling lights and holiday decorations on the famous Eucalyptus Ave by bike! Holiday social in downtown San Carlos afterwards! Whether you’re a devoted cyclist or simply someone who loves soaking in holiday cheer, this event offers an unforgettable evening under the glow of festive displays.

About This Event

The 2025 San Carlos Holiday Lights Ride invites riders of all ages to join a scenic and cheerful bike trip through some of the city’s most beautifully illuminated areas. The highlight of the evening is a visit to San Carlos’ famous Eucalyptus Street holiday lights, a beloved destination known throughout the region for its dazzling displays and welcoming atmosphere.

After enjoying Eucalyptus Street, the ride continues through additional well-decorated neighborhoods, giving everyone a chance to admire even more festive creativity. We’ll begin our journey at Burton Park and make our way downtown, finishing at Paris Baguette, where riders can relax, sip something warm and enjoy a holiday social with fellow participants.

All ages are welcome, and to make the event even brighter, every participant will get a free blinky taillight! It’s our way of adding an extra sparkle to your bike and ensuring riders stay visible throughout the evening.

Details

Here’s everything you need to know before joining this magical ride:

Ride Start

  • Meet up at 4:00 pm at the Burton Park bocce courts, located at 900 Chestnut St, San Carlos.
  • We’ll start rolling at 4:15, giving everyone time to gather, get organized and prepare their bikes.

Pace

  • The ride is designed to be easy and family friendly, making it enjoyable for children, casual riders and seasoned cyclists alike.

Ride End

  • The ride ends at approximately 5:15 pm at Paris Baguette downtown (622 Laurel St, San Carlos).
  • From there, riders can grab a hot chocolate or other refreshment and enjoy the holiday atmosphere along the lively pedestrian zone on Laurel Street.

Route

  • Our route begins at Burton Park and winds its way through San Carlos toward Eucalyptus Street.
  • Because Eucalyptus is often crowded during the holiday season, we’ll walk our bikes down Eucalyptus to enjoy the displays safely and respectfully. If crowds are lighter, we might be able to roll a little, but the goal is to take our time and fully appreciate the magical decorations.
  • After that, we’ll explore a few more festively decorated neighborhoods before returning to Paris Baguette in the San Carlos Laurel Street pedestrian zone.

Safety Reminder

  • Don’t forget your helmets and bike lights—decorative lights are encouraged! Riders are welcome to adorn their bicycles with string lights, glowing accessories and other holiday-themed decorations to help set the festive mood and increase visibility.
