Derby Day Is Back at San Carlos Charter – Let’s Roll!
If you hear cheering and the sound of tiny tires zooming down a track this weekend, don’t panic—it’s just Derby Day at San Carlos Charter School, and it’s gonna be a good time.
This isn’t your average school event. Middle schoolers at SCC built their own gravity-powered race cars (yes, they really did that), and now they’re ready to put their creations to the test. Think: science meets speed meets “please don’t crash.”
The best part? It’s totally free and totally fun. Here’s what’s going down:
- BBQ that slaps – burgers, dogs, and grill vibes
- Live jams by the student-teacher band (we see you, Mr. M on the drums)
- And a Centennial Car kicking off the action, because San Carlos is turning 100 and we’re not letting that slide under the radar
It’s all happening right at the SCC campus, and it’s the perfect way to wrap up the school year—with good food, good weather, and a whole lot of cheering for some seriously cool student-built race cars.
