Lunar New Year, or the Spring Festival in China, is all about welcoming spring and kicking off a fresh year on the lunisolar calendar. It’s not just a big deal in China but also in South Korea, Vietnam, and wherever you find a bunch of overseas Chinese partying it up. The dates might do a little dance depending on where you are, but one thing’s for sure—it’s a time to get cozy with the fam.

Now, let’s talk about the Lunar New Year’s Eve feast—it’s like a feast for good vibes and good luck. Symbolic dishes galore, all promising a year full of fortune. And when the fifteenth day rolls around, you might catch folks munching on tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls) and parading around with lanterns to cap off the festivities.
