In the fairy tale criminal justice system, the characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes are represented by two separate yet equally ridiculous groups: the fairy tale police who investigate fairy tale crime, and the fairy tale district attorneys who prosecute the fairy tale offenders. These are their stories.

Since its inception in 1990, San Carlos Children’s Theater has become a leader and family favorite in youth theater, producing more than 180 shows, training more than 12,500 aspiring young actors, and entertaining over 25,000 Bay Area families. SCCT provides students ages 4-18 with quality theatrical experiences which foster creative and critical thinking skills, develop leadership, build self-confidence, and teach teamwork in a supportive, safe environment.
We strongly believe that the process is just as important for the student as the product, and strive to help performers discover more about themselves as they learn the fundamentals of performing arts and technical production. Through after-school drama classes, musical theater camps, specialized workshops, and full-scale productions, SCCT nurtures each student’s imagination and creative aspirations to help them reach their full potential and develop a life-long love for the arts.
SCCT is committed to the community and providing exceptional theater training to students throughout the Peninsula. In addition to our independent performing arts programs, we provide after-school theater programs to public schools in San Carlos, Redwood City, and Belmont. SCCT believes in giving back to the community and each year hosts a variety of free family activities (e.g. movie nights, scavenger hunts, virtual game nights), as well as participating in local community events like San Carlos Hometown Days, San Carlos Farmers Market, and Belmont’s Save the Music festival.
Our non-profit organization is led by an Executive Operations Director and Executive Artistic Director, along with an all-volunteer Board of Directors. SCCT’s skilled staff also includes an experienced team of drama teaching artists, vocal directors and choreographers, and a part-time Technical Director, Costume Designer, Set Designer, Accountant and Marketing Manager. Students are routinely encouraged to participate in theater leadership by joining SCCT’s Youth Advisory Board, as well as working as junior assistant directors/choreographers, technical crew assistants, or class/camp aides.
