Family Campout 2025 – A Beautiful Night Under The Stars
Family Campout returns this summer, August 8th and 9th!
Families can participate in this community event by pitching a tent and camping under the stars in Burton Park! This is a great way to gather with friends and enjoy a variety of activities including crafts, field games, s’more roasting, and a movie at dusk! BBQ dinner and continental breakfast is included. Families should bring camping equipment including a tent and sleeping bag, as well as extras such as chairs, snacks, flashlights.
Check in begins Friday at 4:00 p.m. and check out is Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Registration is required.
Itinerary
Check in 4:00 to 5:00 PM
- Check in and pick up your welcome bag in front of the Adobe shed on Flanagan Field.
- Use the Loading Area on Cedar Street to unload campers and gear
- Get sustainable camping tips from Recology San Mateo County!
Crafts & Games: 5:00 to 8:00 PM
- Play lawn games and work on fun crafts with Youth Center staff!
Dinner: 6:00 to 7:30 PM
- Pick up your pre-ordered hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers cooked and served by the San Carlos Lions Club!
S’mores: 7:00 to 8:30 PM
- Roast marshmallows and enjoy your own tasty snacks on the Flanagan Field
Movie: 8:15 PM (Sunset)
- Bring blankets, sweaters, and lawn chairs to watch Disney’s ‘Elemental ‘ under the stars
Starwalk: 8:30 PM
- Campers who have registered for the Kiwanis Club Starwalk should meet at the Check in Booth by 8:30 PM
QUIET TIME: 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Breakfast: 7:00 to 9:30 PM
- Fuel up for your weekend with coffee, donuts, fruit, and other breakfast treats.
Morning Storytime: 9:20 AM
- While experienced outdoor folks clean up their tents, young campers can meet San Carlos librarians for a morning storytime!
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please leave pets at home.
