The Block Party this Sunday will be a Sustainability-themed Block Party\, on August 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the 600 block of Laurel Street –\nC/CAG will also be there to discuss the C/CAG Countywide Local Roadway Safety Plan Project – a project to improve motorist\, bicyclist\, and pedestrian safety on local streets and roads throughout San Mateo County. \nLearn more about this project here: https://ccag.ca.gov/countywide-local-roadway-safety-plan/ \nWatch the Community Kickoff Meeting webinar here: https://ow.ly/JnRy50PEBEq. \n\nThe 600 & 700 blocks of Laurel Street will be closed after the weekly Farmers’ Market. Enjoy live music\, beer & wine\, games\, and more. \nGet more information on the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce website. \n\nHow to Start you Own Block Party \nResidents are encouraged to hold Block Parties as a way to get to know their neighbors. The process to obtain a permit in order to close the street is simple and there is no fee. All you need to do is: \n\nRead the Block Party Permit Guidelines.\nHave your neighbors sign the Petition for Residential Block Party.\nFill out the Block Party Permit Application.\n\n     \nMail or drop off the signed petition\, application and a site map to the Parks & Recreation Department\, located at City Hall\, 600 Elm Street\, 2nd Floor\, San Carlos.  Applicants are encouraged to submit their paperwork a minimum of 30 days in advance of the event.  Please note that not all streets in San Carlos are eligible to hold a Block Party\, especially those considered “collector streets.”  Barricades are required and can be rented through local vendors. \nCity Sign of San Carlos \nVicky Galea | vgalea@cityofsancarlos.org | (650) 802-4421 \n\nSee other interesting traditional events in San Carlos.
